Spin and charge transfer studies of polyaniline

The results of investigation of polyaniline with the different doping levels at 2-mm waveband EPR are reported. The relaxation times of different paramagnetic centers were determined separately by the method of steady-state saturation. The superslow dynamics of the polarons localized on polymer chains is studied by the method of saturation transfer. The charge in neutral sample was shown to be transferred by small polarons. The increase in the mobility and the number of charge carriers at the sample low doping level leads to an isoenergetic interchain charge transfer between polaron and bipolaron states. Variable range hopping charge tunneling prevails in highly doped film. The electroconductivity of metal-like domains is determined at high temperatures by charge/phonon interaction.
